White Nights

White was the colour of choice at this year's MET Costume Institute Gala.
Diane Kruger in Calvin Klein Collection is always one of my favourites.
Taylor Swift, always beautiful in Ralph Lauren.
Donna Karan in her own design.
(Brrr) it girl of the moment, Emma Watson in Burberry Prorsum with designer Christopher Bailey.
Tory Burch in her design (it's really more of a beige...)

From the Boys...

It's really much harder to pull off a menswear look at an event like the Costume Institute Gala, but here were two perfect outfits.
Tina Fey in Yves Saint Laurent.
Phillip Lim and Alexa Chung, in 3.1 Phillip Lim.

My Best Dressed at the MET Costume Institute Gala

It came as a surprise to me too but it had to go to Naomi Watts who looked every bit of perfection in Lanvin by Alber Elbaz.
...and with Liev Schrieber.

Standouts at the MET Costume Institute Gala

This year's theme was American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity which brought out the stars in droves. It was a bit of a hit and miss year, but there are always standouts. Here's my pick of the bunch.

Classic American elegance to the T: Zoe Saldana and Diane Kruger, both in Calvin Klein Collection and Francisco Costa.
Iman never fails to look flawless, this year she wore Prada.
My two favourite designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez with Chloƫ Sevigny, in Proenza Schouler.
Natasha Poly in Michael Kors = Fierce!
Amber Valletta in RM by Roland Mouret.
And lastly, age before beauty, Calvin Klein and Carolina Herrera.
